‘The Mighty Jer-Dog’
Just in case you’re not familiar with “Jer-Dog,” he has delivered over 2,000 performances in the last decade at comedy clubs, colleges, casinos, hotel lounges, neighborhood saloons, biker bars, summer festivals, and private events all over the country as part of The Grassroots Comedy Tour- the longest running independent comedy bar show in America. As a radio personality, Jer-Dog’s comedy has been heard on THE BOB & TOM SHOW, SIRIUS-XM SATELLITE RADIO, and he’s currently a regular contributor on THE STONE & DOUBLE T SHOW (104.9FM) Rockford, Illinois.
Jer-Dog has starred in the comedy documentaries (available on Amazon) Road Dogs (’06) and American Smartass (’10) chronicling his adventures with The Grassroots Comedy Tour. His comedy CD, Domesticated Party Animal (Laughing Hyena Records) is also available on Amazon and select retail outlets throughout the country. He has been featured in the press countless times and was voted one of Bud Light’s “Real Men of Comedy” by Maxim magazine.
Jer-Dog brings to the stage a powerhouse performance delivering fast paced one-liners and story-telling, while simultaneously incorporating characters, voices, sound effects, and audience interaction. His captivating, blue collar style has mass appeal without being generic or politically correct. Jer-Dog also dives into material about the challenges of transforming from an obnoxious party-animal into a domesticated stay-at-home dad.
Raised in a small town in Iowa, Jer-Dog began his comedy career almost 20 years ago, at the age of 19, by traveling for hours to cities with comedy clubs and karaoke/sports bars facing some of the toughest crowds imaginable. He further developed his showmanship skills during a 10-year tour with “Shenani-Guns” Comedy Wild West Show, performing at Six Flags and state fairs.
Currently based in Ames, IA, Jer-Dog spends most of his time with his family, writing new material, headlining live events, and interacting with his legions of fans online.
Nathan Tricky Allen
‘The Maniac of Magic’
Part magician, part comedian, and totally dysfunctional, Nathan Allen performs a highly-caffeinated blend of magic and comedy! Yes, Nathan Allen is a magician, but don’t be fooled – you will see NO tuxedo and NO sparkly boxes in this show. Instead, Nathan combines his twisted sense of humor, sleight-of-hand magic skills, and hilarious audience participation into one of the very few magic shows on the face of the planet that is both geared for adults AND funny.
The best trick up Nathan’s sleeve is his ability to connect with a crowd, and it’s a trick he can pull off whether he is at a corporate event or a biker bar. With a knack for being naughty and tons of fun, without being offensive, Nathan’s personality-driven performances have been described as “Edgy, funny comedy and magic at its best!” (Naturally Funny Entertainment; Chicago, IL), “Funny, fast-moving, unique, and very entertaining!” (Vetesnik Power Sports; Richland Center, WI), and “Action packed, funny, and unpredictable!” (Iowa Emergency Management Association; Des Moines, IA).
The International Brotherhood of Magicians presented Nathan with the Iowa Magic Award, based on skill, originality, and entertainment value. He is the only magician ever featured in “The Grassroots Comedy Tour” and “The Dirty Jokes & Magic Tricks Show”. His entertainment services won him a full-ride business scholarship to attend college. Of the dozens of magicians in Iowa, Nathan was the only one selected to perform onstage at Iowa Governor Culver‘s Inaugural Gala. He has appeared on international television on TV3, broadcast from the United Kingdom, and has been seen here in the USA on NBC, ABC, and PBS television news programs. And yet, in a typical example of his priorities, he insists that he is most proud of being elected Class Clown.
More than just something out of thin air, Nathan’s slow-but-steady rise in the entertainment industry is the result of a 15-year, love-hate obsession with his work. He started learning magic when he was only 8 years old and did his first paid performance when he was just 12. Now, at the age of 32, Nathan has a long list of performances under his belt, for companies including 3M, Alliant Energy, Charter Communications, Honda, RadioShack, Swiss Valley Farms, and Wal-Mart, to name just a few. In addition to countless corporate engagements at banquets, awards nights, and holiday parties, Nathan also works at nightclubs, casinos, class reunions, clubs, colleges, golf courses, festivals, and private parties throughout the upper Midwest.
Nathan is based out of Ames, Iowa. He drinks way too much coffee, and in his spare time, he enjoys arguing with the television… when it’s turned off.
